Escaping the searing desert sun, you step into the darkly lit, cool PS Air Bar and feel as though you’ve left the world behind.
The PS Air Bar is a relatively new speakeasy in Palm Springs. Located in the back of Bouschet, the 737-inspired bar will ignite the joy of travel. From the moment you get your ticket the whole experience is flight-themed. The place feels authentic with its real airplane seats and sidewalls. Tables are made to look like airplane wings and clouds light up above your head.

On Saturday nights the bar hosts a dinner-meets-drag show event starting at 5:00pm. There are two drag brunches on Sundays. The cocktail menu has everything from “Jet Lag” to “Red Eye”. I chose the “Aviation” and was not disappointed. In true airplane fashion you have a choice of chicken, beef, or vegetables for dinner which is served on an airplane tray. You also receive a glass of champagne with a small cheese plate at the beginning of the evening and a jello shot at the end…because why not!

Throughout the evening there is live music, a video montage of airplane travel from the past, and, of course, a drag show. I won’t say more about this so as to not ruin any of the surprise.
My overall review: the $45 cost is well worth it and you will have a night to remember.
